Technology-based learning has changed educational design as well
as teaching styles. Not only classrooms, libraries and media centers,
but also lecture halls, administrative office spaces, auditoriums
and multipurpose rooms provide opportunities to incorporate technology
for greater access to resources and a wider range of learning activities.
In designing for technology use within a school, flexibility and
a future-oriented perspective are essential. Technology often develops
more quickly than a building project, so the design and infrastructure
must allow for the possibility that equipment and use may changed
somewhat by the time the technology systems are installed. Good
planning allows this seamless flexibility.
